LOL I only have my Cambridge here, my OED is in Canada. I found a spelling for it and it fits 
MAPS HEIR = SERAPHIM Cambridge did have it, but as an alternative plural! Doh!!

Er... I'm not quite sure what an Elistism is, and I can only find five references to it on Scroogle(uncluttered Google), and they appear to be typo's from the same/similar article, alluding to 'elitisms'. Can you check your reference NDP-S please. My anagram was quite a common expression.
