Awww ... Sammy was only 3 yrs old??? That's such a shame. Hugs for you from my house, too.

In the Fall of 2012 we lost 2 cats in 2 weeks. The other thread let me down memory lane. It still brings a tear to my eye.

We lost our little chihuahua Tia on Sunday morning 10 yrs old. By any chance does someone know where I could buy bookmarks or some small momento with The Rainbow Bridge written on it for a keepsake for my family? We are all having a very difficult time with this.

Re: The Rainbow Bridge~Rest in Peace
Well my cat Mel had to be put down to day. I got him as a stray he hung around the crappy house we rented, he was a house cat, turned feral. Spent a long time getting him to be a good cat, he was the best noisy pita of a cat I had.
He was 15-17 years old, my other cat toby made it to 20, about 4 years ago. I wish I still had pictures, but the HDD that held them crashed and I am not a fan of taking pictures. That will change now tho.
So how do you guy's deal with losing a pet? I am taking it better then when I lost toby, but only a little. I may think of adopting a cat in a year or so. (or maybe not for a fair bit longer, I could work in the oil fields or mines. I never though it was fair to leave your pets for weeks on end, it's bad on a full time shift work. )

It is very difficult dealing with the loss, as you well know when you lost Toby, but as you say you do have some freedom now without feeling guilty about leaving a little critter alone for extended periods. So sad you lost all your photos to remind you of what a great pet Mel was.

It's so hard to make the decision to let them go. I still miss those pups. How wonderful that you gave Mel a loving home. Hugs from me and my family.
