Re: The Rainbow Bridge
Our beloved pooch Ginger has crossed the rainbow bridge at the age of 17. The last year was tough on her but the end was peaceful and brought her relief. We miss her like crazy but take some comfort in knowing that with such a large catalogue of fond memories, she'll never be far from our hearts.
Here's hoping that doggy heaven is filled with bacon and squirrels old pal. Or better yet, bacon wrapped squirrels. Rest in peace Ginger.

You gave Smokey the best home he could ever have had. Sorry for your loss, and everyone else here who has lost a family member.

Sorry to hear of your beloved pooch. It's always a tough time losing a beloved family member and I can still hear the tap tap tapping of nails across the floor from my own dogs that have crossed that bridge.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

Re: The Rainbow Bridge
So sad for you Pointdexter, Ginger looks like a lovely companion and character. So sad to have to say "good bye". The rainbow bridge is not far for us to imagine our beloved pets enjoying the fact they are free of pain.
I imagine the rainbow bridge has birds too, flying free and wild again. Do they all miss us as we miss them?
Keesa, her kitten and my avatar Maestro, Tay, Chopin, Hannah, Sparky, all reside there. I hope to see them again someday.

That's a pretty good life span for a bigger dog.
Sorry for your loss!

Re: The Rainbow Bridge
Thanks all.
Like Fancy said, I swear at times I can still hear her tap dancing across the floor or the jingle of her collar. Never realized how in their own way our pets fill the house with music, and how quite it gets when they're gone.

It's an empty feeling not to see them but the memories keep our pets alive in our hearts.

Shortly after Hannah passed away, we both thought we heard her one more time. Definitely.

Bacon wrapped squirrel, no wonder Ginger looks beautiful, she will miss you too after 17 years of companionship.
You will always hear the tap dancing and jingling collar as a reminder she isn't too far and loved her life.

^^ Same as dogs or really any other pets you have held dear. 5 years this month and I still think fondly of Smokey and all the other more distantly lost pets that have improved my life (horses, a couple of cows (I trained one to ride and took 1st place in a local parade at age 10), more dogs, cats, a tarantula, guinea pig, some hens and a hooded rat.)

Five years ago today and the hurt is gone but the fond memories linger....
See you soon on the Rainbow Bridge, Smokey.
