Lilies and cats

Postby Queen K » Apr 8th, 2017, 11:24 am

Reminder this Easter:

If you MUST buy Easter Lilies, and bring them home, be aware that a cat may die due to kidney damage if they eat the lilies.

ALSO, a cat which absolutely must taste everything outdoors WILL get damaged kidneys from garden daylilies.

Please be aware that keeping cats away from all lilies is paramount for their lives and preventing vet bills.
Please edit "Horgan" to "Premier Horgan" to show solidarity towards a successful tenure. Remember: The NDP Government: 2017 thread is not in the Bickering Room.

This is so true. I must remind everyone that it is not just Easter Lillies but many other types as well. This spring my daughter bought Daylilies to plant in the garden, she brought them into the house for a few moments on the way to the green house. The cats chewed the leaves and were in hospital on I.V. fluids for 48 hours. If cats drink the water from a vase of lilies or brush against them and groom the pollen off their coats it is often enough to put them into renal failure. You can not be too careful!
