Well don't be an idiot and drive to Calgary in the winter. And if you much do it, do it when they aren't performing avalanche control, because if you do, you'll find that it is quicker to drive in the winter than the summer to Calgary because of few cars on the road.

Road is clear and beautiful .... except the minimal fog patches that are at best slow down, pay attention, and give yourself time.... normal for this time of year
