Temporary VAG takes shape in downtown Vernon

Cranes were hard at work in downtown Vernon Monday.

BigSteelBox crews moved storage lockers into place across from Cenotaph Park to form a temporary gallery for the Okanagan Print Triennial, which runs from March 19 to May 21.

“Our business was built around the idea that a BigSteelBox is a better solution for moving and storage. Usually it’s household belongings or equipment on a construction site, but this is a great example of a BigSteelBox’s versatility,” said president Jason Siebenga.

“The Vernon Art Gallery needed a secure temporary solution, and we’re happy to offer our support and help them bring this significant exhibit to the Okanagan.”

VAG received close to 200 submissions by artists from more than 30 countries for the triennial. They range from intricate wood block prints to large scale digital images.
