Piles of Railway Ties Still Around N. OK?

Post by Kelowna_Born »

I know the company that is ripping up the line is called Cando and just wondering approx were some big piles of railway ties are still laying seen quite a few last year. I lost the contact info on the guy in charge of operations selling them and just want to head up from Kelowna and see what they got left in person.

I'm not sure they're allowed to sell them anymore. The chemicals (in particular the Creosote) they are soaked in is an environmental nightmare. I know this was the case a few years ago anyway.....

Past Grindrod heading north you'll see Riverside Rd , turn left , go till you see the bridge going across the Shuswap . There were millions of them stacked alongside Rosemond Lake Rd . The last time I was there was mid March though . The stack must have 2 KM long at that time .
