Comic Lovers and Comic Artists in Penticton? A myth?

Kelowna is growing in its geek culture with the fan expo, entertainment expo and soon a comic festival but I wonder if there are like minded geeks here in Penticton? If there are, I don't see why we can't make our own fun and save on the trip?

Monthly Kelowna hosts Comic Jams, where comic lovers and artists get together. Sit in a pub or a coffee shop, food and drink mixed with laughter! They have randomly generated topics that are the basis for the comic panels created. Each panel gets added to by various people and the story takes the oddest twists because of that. It's like a visual game of telephone! I don't draw and even I added to it.

I would love to know if such a thing could get started down here.

I'm not really a comic lover or artist, but I do have a strong appreciation for sci-fi/fantasy art and TV/movies. If there are any geeks in Penticton, then they must be hiding. I can't seem to find any.
