My question is: Why would "the government" want "us" to do drugs?
Then, I see;

Billions of dollars are spent on pharmaceutical drugs that are far more dangerous than some of those street concoctions

My questions are;
(1) Who's "billions of dollars"?
Canadians? The Canadian government? Big pharma? Pot growers? Columbian drug lords? The USA? Monsanto?
(2) What are "Street concoctions"?
Are they really SAFER than government drugs?

How is the government "lining THEIR pockets", from drug sales? Which government.....Canada? India, Columbia? Mexico?

Pretty simple. A business license is required to operate a business.

If there are that many people that just can't buy it from Billy down the street, then the government and industry should work to distribute 'medical marijuana' from established pharmacies.

This whole legalization issue has turned into a crock of bs, especially regarding head shops, and I just have an inkling that it's not as big an issue in other parts of Canada that don't have the numbers of 'medical marijuana users' that BC has.

Although the article that you posted is titled 'Facts on prescription drug deaths and the Drug industry reading it over reveals that it is nothing but the political opinion of a politician wishing to make a name for himself in order to get reelected.

Giving an opinion on only one side of a story is the same as a lie.

Why waste the courts time going after this? Go after murders, rapist, the really bad people who deserve to go to jail. Yes Cannabis is illegal, but should we be tying up the courts for a silly matter like this?. I say we should keep it separate from liquor stores, make sure the stores that are in place are well regulated staff and owners are well trained in iding people etc. Now who ever did issue the business license knew what they were signing off on. I one cannot wait for the day cannabis is made legal why,
1.) increased tax revenue 2.) policing going after the real criminals and thus saving money 3.) people having the freedom to chose what they want. I used to smoke cannabis but quit (too expensive) So yes i'm in favor of these shops and legalization.

Illegal except for medical purposes. Hasn't the government been growing thier own?
