Moving to North Okanagan?
We are looking for an acreage in the area, was in the area this April. Coming from the prairies the scuttlebutt has always been the higher property values, though the prices here have rocketed in the last 8 yrs.

Sorry, your post isn't very clear. Do you have a question? Or are you looking for specific information?
Nobody wants to hear your opinion. They just want to hear their own opinion coming out of your mouth.

Lots of questions
Is the rail track running north south still in use?
How have real estate prices changed in the last 10 ys?
Have there been any floods due to river overflow(Grindrod area)?

Lumby to Kamloops - the track segments between Armstrong and Enderby as well as between Vernon and Kelowna are gone.

Depends on where exactly you're looking at. Some areas are better than others (price wise).
Nothing substantial as far as I know.Inbound wrote:Have there been any floods due to river overflow(Grindrod area)?

Re: Moving to North Okanagan?
Ideal property for various reasons.
2+ acres
Rancher style house(least amount of stairs)
Work shop or priced accordingly
Low flood risk
Active rail line at least 1000 ft away
Little winter sun obstruction therefore valley
Off 97 Hwy by at least 500 ft
etc
Saw a property that was close in April 2016 though was not ideal for my better half... major redo of home inside and out and therefore too much money, crazy good shop though. Now I'm working on a the idea of getting a <50K mobile home to make the big move and watch the houses for sale while being local, are in Regina now.
This property is 1/2 mile and 1.5 miles of beef feedlots so the sweet smell of waste is a big concern with my wife, and I'm guessing the field next to this property gets waste spread on it.
Anyone familiar with the Maydean trailer court on Ranchero drive? It is pretty small just south of Salmon Arm.

I think you should look at the Lumby area.
Better prices than Salmon Arm area and may have what you want ready to go.
Only 30k from Vernon - and some small acreages away from farms.
Just IMO...
