4 years for 9 bank robberies so that's about 7 months jail time per robbery, wow soft judge or what

Not soft judge in comparison to other similar cases. They do have guidelines they adhere to.

Thats really sad the culprits should punish strictly...

We would like to think that our drinking and driving laws are effective. Unfortunately drinking and driving is still a huge problem for our society, don't forget that the police only catch a small fraction of those who are driving under the influence. There have been a lot of information campaigns about the dangers of getting behind the wheel after knocking back a few but people are still dying or being seriously injured. Three years in jail seems like too little for taking a life and irreparably damaging another. Getting a small fine or minimum jail time is not effective, so what will it take to scare people enough so that they won't dream of driving drunk? While there are already financial penalties and incarceration penalties the most effective method to reduce the carnage is to institute corporal punishment. If anyone caught driving impaired was to receive 10 lashes (yes lashes) in public there would be an immediate reduction in the number of drunk drivers. Now in our bleeding heart society there are many who will rise up and say this is inhuman and cruel but explain that to those who have had their lives unalterably damaged by a drinking driver.
