Its why one needs to ask if there is value in their MLA. Party discipline all too often runs contrary to the constituents voices and even the principles of the MLA. Most of these well-intentioned people become the smiling seals we see pounding their desk in QP. Their only purpose -be present and vote in favour of their parties position on bills.

here is a good documentary worth watching and sharing.

Nice try putting words in my mouth.
What makes you think I don't know what an MLA does ?

My concern is not with the actual salary of an MLA , it is more about the overall cost to the taxpayer when all is said and done. $300,000 per year , plus the staffing cost , for just one of BC's 85 MLA's.

Then of course there are also the federal MP's , each with substantially higher expenses.

I am sure there is a better way.

Your entire argument seems to be based on your feelings that they make too much money. Again why? They have an important job to do with high stakes that changes lives everyday.

My suggestion is to go down to your local office and see what they do. I know my local rep is a hardworking person who works hard, and has worked hard, for our area.

Basing your opinion of a person or a job based on what they make is silly.

So you think and MLA does not require an office or staff or travel in the riding and from the riding to the capital?
