Pot shops
https://www.castanet.net/edition/news-s ... htm#206909
I'm not familiar with the commercial side of leasing but shouldn't commercial property companies be held liable for what goes on in their buildings?
Can't they be fined till it hurts enough that they act on it? Did they lease these places knowing it was going to be for dealing drugs? If not can't they evict and sue for the difference or whatever?

Re: Pot shops
Why tie up the already back logged courts with what is really a non issue. It's soon going to be legalized so why not make a frame work on how these business will operate in the future?

Why should people be rewarded for being criminals? Is this opportunity only available for those who don't mind the possibility of doing time or spending time in the court system , or simply having a criminal record?

Re: Pot shops
Look, we have to close down these shops as soon as possible. Weed is going to be legal soon, and we have to make sure the "right" people are the ones who own the shops.

Re: Pot shops
Are they hurting anybody?
Perhaps it's causing an increased consumption of potato chips, but that's about it.

Re: Pot shops
The point is that all other businesses have to be legal and have regulations and every business owner and employee bust there *bleep* to make it work. Yet these people not only deal in an illegal product, they have storefronts selling it.
If the police don't do anything about the sale, they should at least send them back to the streets and parking lots. Because aren't the suppliers just good ol mom and pop operations lol

It's not illegal to purchase and consume if you have a prescription. All of their clients have a prescription.

Dispensaries are illegal
http://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/cj-jp/mari ... w-loi.html
"Unlicensed Sellers
Storefront operations selling cannabis, commonly known as “dispensaries” and “compassion clubs” are not licensed by Health Canada under the current law and are illegal. They are supplied by illegal growers and sell untested, unregulated products that may be unsafe and of particular risk to children."

Re: Pot shops
What about the crazy concept about following the rules?
If you wish to be treated like a legitimate business then be a legitimate business.
The Pot industry has been trying to become legit for a long time and have won that battle, yet places like these can't follow the rules.

Never seen any children walking into these shops. Pretty sure they don't allow them in.

What's the point when it's all illegal?

What's the point if it will be legalized next spring?
There's a reason why cops don't bust their door and arrest everybody. They know there's no point to it and this "illegal" part is only a formality.

Incorrect. They buy their products from approved growers and product manufacturers. There's plenty of them.
