Good...its way too hot...

Only problem is that with the heat so high the rain may just add humidity to the area which is even worse...

Higher humidity is a good thing though! The scale works backwards, low = less moisture in the air, high = more moisture in the air. Fire burns more aggressively with less moisture.

Off Forestry's Facebook page:

The Wildfire Management Branch is responding to 8 new wildfires between Cawston and Richter Pass in the Penticton Fire Zone. All fires are believed to be lightning caused and at this time are spot sized.

Www.weather.ca shows plenty of moisture heading from the coast , but it seems to fizzle out for the most part by the time it hits Kelowna. Maybe later on this evening !

Maybe its time that the Kamloops Fire Centre banned campfires? The Coastal Centre already has and we are usually drier than them. I know most of the Southern fires have been sparked by Lightning but near Kelowna/Winfield areas there is talk that they were human caused.

I know that folks like to have campfires when out camping but we can't afford a repeat of some of the worst fire years of past.

We might even get rain tonight if the system to the west continues to travel northeast without dissipating.
