Dolly Hoot. Wasn't she an original?

I remember when the "peach" actually looked like a peach, not a nectarine.

How about the "Lunch Horn"? Could hear it while pruning all the way out in Trout Creek.

The Incola.

The lumber train from the mill in OK Falls on its way to Spence's Bridge.

And, tracks alongside Railway Avenue.

When the slough north of town actually had Red Wings, and a fishing hut where kids could dip a line. (Now it's just a slew of roofs behind a wall!)

There were (count 'em) 2 Drive-In theatres! (Now there's only Drive-Thru's.)

But what I probably miss most is being able to quietly enjoy sitting on the beach after midnight on a warm summer evening under the star-studded deep dark sky without being asked by Mounties to move along.

Do you recall where the other speedway was?

Sorry, no... unless you're referring to Main Street on Saturday night. :127:

Thanks to all contributors, this has been an entertaining thread.
Where were the Drive-ins located anyway?

I had NO idea that a Lancaster bomber ever landed at our airport.

That doesn't look like a Lancaster to me, more like a B-25 or similar.
