Skaha Lake is an amazing park - there aren't many like it in Canada. It didn't just get that way by itself.
Smart people in the past thirty years made it like it is today. Some people are smart - and others not so smart.

The mayor - Jakubeit - says the park is underutilized. He's crazy. As Penticton's population goes up over the
years, that park will be just perfect. Why screw it up with a waterslide that will provide a few minimum wage jobs for
Pentictonites when there's acres and acres over on the indian band's land.

I think that restaurant is a disaster. It needs to be thought out way better. The outside portion looks like and outdoor area in a prison, it's right next to the rental area where people and kids are running back and forward screaming and running everywhere, I'm all for them having fun but that's not where I would go for a classy or relaxing meal. It's no summer land location and simply won't be.

They needed a second story outside area or something different. Poor planning.
As for the sliders, well. As much as I hate the anti anything crowdhere in pentiction and sometimes use scatter shot when dealing with them I agree it may not be the best place. However, I feel the whole deal was a bit shady on all sides so it if fails I won't be upset the investors lost their shirts.

It's meant to be a family restaurant I think.

As part of the deal with the city, Trio Marine will, at their cost, design and construct a new washroom, change room and splash pad in exchange. Trio will also provide an alternate building for the paddling club.

By all means Thinktank - think about it. It's a package deal that's done. The lease is up in 30 years and may or may not be renewed. If the development to the area is favourable to many users, why the doom and gloom?

A restaurant is included in the plans with operations slated for May to September, which could expand to year-round operations once demand is established
