Shuttle for concerts

Post by smoky500 »

Great idea to have a shuttle for concerts/events at the SOEC with the loss of parking due to casino construction, will ease the parking stress, but it is such a little route. Most people would be able to walk from anywhere on this shuttle route (basically up Westminster to Main and around Lakeshore), why not extend it to the Plaza or Cherry lane where there are lots of empty parking spots?

I thought the same thing. Then a bit of a light when off when I reviewed the events.

Lots of older folks will be in attendance and walking a few blocks may be challenging for many of them.

Well I suppose it is one way of getting people downtown to the corner of the 4.5 million dollar downtown revite to see what they actually bought. And it comes with a bollard they can whizz on when they get dropped off after the concert.

Twobits ... could this be the reason all the dogs at the Saturday market are now all kinda smiling and smurking as they sniff and huddle and pi@# all over those beautiful new bollards? So that's what those bollards were intended for. Now if we can just get city hall to put in some washrooms on Main for humans life would be good.

Yeah. If we eliminated all those stupid bollards, we could have bought a couple of really nice stainless steel model porta potties for downtown. The prices bandied about in the media a few weeks ago about downtown potties made me think the City was shopping at the same place as the US Military.
