No water for Summerland for 3 days?

Post by antelee »

If it wasn't September the 23rd, I would say that this is an April the 1st news item! In this day and age, Mayor Pete is telling us that the water will be shut off for 3 days, that there is no technology available to do this maintenance without shutting the water off? This is NOT acceptable!!

No toilets and no showers lol. Thank goodness you can't drink the water there or you'd be out of that too. I feel for all of the ignoramuses that won't know what hit them when it happens.

Fill your tub and be prepared. You will survive. Have you never gone camping for a few days?

At least it's not on the first of the month, so it won't conflict with bath night.

Taking a dump in the woods is a little different than your front yard lol. I can see it now, all of the Summerland beaches packed with locals bathing themselves.

buy bottled water for cooking and drinking fill the bathtub with water for refilling the back of the toilet and smell like a hippy for a few days no big deal, hopefully there's no fires anywhere that could be an issue especially insurance wise.

Saturday and Sunday without water would be someone's personal choice as it doesn't start until 7 pm Friday. Get a couple of cases of bottled water, some wipes and as suggested fill up the bathtub and some big pots. It's not the end of the world.

Doubtful that would happen - water would be too cold.

I have the feeling that the people calling me a whiner don't live in Summerland. You are right - I am whining and I will continue to whine until some other way of doing this maintenance is found!

That's why you fill the tub. Take a bucket of water out of it and pour it in the toilet...voila..flushed!

Have a close look at how people live in the poorer parts of the world and your problems will be pretty insignificant.
Sometimes things happen and you can't do anything about it. But if whining helps then go for it.

You probably won't get much sympathy from Castanutter's though. lol

To the OP's point.

I'm sure it could be done without a shutdown. Are you willing to pay the cost associated tho? I suspect not.

I expect those that are in charge have looked at other options and there is none. Same with power outages to maintain the equipment. It happens and there is zero reason not to be prepared for a minor inconvenience. It's not like you can't cook or clean up.
