Property owners

Post by rustled »

About 2,160, or 52 per cent of those 4,158 homes not granted in Penticton have their primary residence in the city, which Pennington says likely means they are rental units.
...
Of the 1,991 property owners whose primary residence is outside of Penticton, 26.3 per cent call somewhere in the Okanagan Valley home, a contingent Penntington speculated is also largely made up of landlords.

Making up even greater numbers is the 36.7 per cent, who call the Lower Mainland home...

Edmonton has just over two thirds of Calgary's property owners in Penticton, at 6.7 per cent and 9.7 per cent respectively...

Huh. I thought the numbers from Alberta would have been higher.

Penticton is a long way from Alberta. Albertans prefer to avoid the 50 traffic lights to get there, so they are sticking more to the north part of the valley and the Shuswap.

LOL.

Seemed to be a lot of Albertans buying "vacation cottages" in OK Falls and Osoyoos for a while. (Maybe they came via the southern route to avoid the red light district.)

Apparently Naramata is thinking of seceding to Alberta due to the fact there are so many Albertans buying property in their beautiful little village. [icon_lol2.gif]
