Head-on crash kills woman
https://www.castanet.net/edition/news-s ... htm#209917
I drive all over the Okanagan as a Truck Driver. The younger folk drive faster and are impatient but god these seniors on the road are the worst for sure. Launching into building, crossing the center-line, weaving all over the road, coming at you the wrong way, and sitting a green lights for 20 seconds before realizing its green.
65 They they should need a full class 5, driver's exam!

Condolences to the young lady's family and friends.

“On scene RCMP investigators determined that a southbound 2017 GMC Acadian, driven by a 72 year-old male, had crossed over the centerline and struck a northbound 2012 Jeep Patriot, driven by a 25 year-old female who was accompanied by a 29 year-old female passenger,” Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said in a news release.
All three were taken to hospital with serious injuries, but the 29-year-old female passenger of the southbound vehicle passed away at the hospital.

29 appears to be age of the person who died, my condolences to her Family and Friends.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

100 percent agree 65 plus needs a full exam every 5 years and a medical done every 2 years until 75 then every year after that.
Iv seen some that can barely get across the room let alone open the door and then i see them jump in a car and then think yup they have the reaction time of someone in their 30s

Oh c'mon. I know some that run marathons around 30 year olds. Good grief. How the topic was originally worded doesn't inspire confidence either.Symbonite wrote:100 percent agree 65 plus needs a full exam every 5 years and a medical done every 2 years until 75 then every year after that.

Re: Head-on crash kills woman
On any given day that I'm on the local roads and highways I witness countless examples of irresponsible, selfish and/or ignorant driving behaviour, many of which could and often result in serious harm to other users of our byways.
As a society, too many people have lost touch with common decency and respect on our roads. Policing will never be able to keep up with the ignorance we are experiencing. Personally, I do not understand how licensed drivers who pay a small fortune for insurance can routinely put themselves, their vehicles, those around them and their driving record at risk for the sake of saving a few seconds here and there. We are reading about too many lost lives due to the problem.
I'm not sure how to remedy the situation however, I for one, am always extra diligent in watching for the selfish drivers of all ages and genders we are required to share the roads with. For those of you that are extra careful out there... be safe and try to pass your skills on to your children, friends and family. It is rapidly becoming totally out of control on our roads.

Someone has to say it.

Well, when the topic heading says 29 dead - that could confuse some posters.

Too bad a 72 year old thought he was fine to drive on a highway at 10 30 at night and killed an innocent young lady.
