New hotel in Oliver
https://www.castanet.net/news/Penticton ... -not-ideal
The whole thing is an eyesore, not just the entrance. It looks like someone just stacked a bunch of containers together and then had Fred and Barney add an entrance to it.

Wow, is there any type of development that appeals to you?

Do you like this artist's concept?

Not a fan of either style (Wood one is better) but the finished product pretty much never looks like the artist's concept.
My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

I'd prefer the wooden one as well but the ghost in the bottom left of the artist's rendition is making me lean towards the steel framed.

I don't think you know the definition of the word "development". This hotel does not qualify. The land was developed many years ago and was home to another business, an RV Park. Then someone came along, bought the RV Park and decided to get rid of all the RVs and build a hotel on the property. A 'development' is when someone buys raw land and decides to build something on it.

A development also means enlargement, progress, spread, growth etc. Not just on raw land.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

Owner of RV park has the right to sell the property, yes or no.
Town of Oliver has the right to say yes or no the a hotel, yes or no.

Perhaps, but I was replying to someone who was accusing me of being anti-development because I'm against the Lark Group's plan to develop the Banks Crescent land. IMHO, those two projects have no relation to each other, and I was merely pointing out the fact that the proposed new hotel is an eyesore.

*removed* I started this thread in order that Oliver citizens could state their opinions on their new hotel on a public forum. *removed*
