PIB Superpark

there's nothing that goes better with a SuperPark than a MJ store. It would be great if the PIB were to combine these two entities. Like make it more convenient....like Jasper, Alberta.... where you can find a gas station with a beer store attached. One stop shopping

This announcement is disappointing, however, they handled it properly. The vote has spoken. Chief Eneas said it appears the sheer size of the development appeared to provoke concern for members. I'm really not sure how to read this statement.
It would have presented a major economic boost for the PIB.

Very sad news here; could have been a big shot in the arm for PIB., however the majority has spoken. End of project. Now watch a more progressive band like down in Oliver/Osoyoos pick it up.

Perhaps the company proposing the development will now approach either another band or even a local locatee, so that it could move forward rather than have to have PIB members (a dismal % though actually voted) turn it down. That expensive "Bridge to N_ssan" sure doesn't seem to be helping development much, either.

Quite clearly......and from the Castanet article.......

Chief Eneas said it appears the sheer size of the development appeared to provoke concern for members.

We will move forward with similar engagement formats through the family systems, building upon and enhancing the process to consider a further set of land use designations in the new year.”

Nuff said here. Pretty much makes a statement and/or any kind of consensus for treaty negotiations across BC. Hate to say it but I am beginning to think that there is a large proportion of FN members that are concerned with losing the "woe is me" Gov't funding that projects like this might cast a light on.

Looks like a new location may be in the cards. Not a bad choice whatsoever. About time that something was done with the old Game Farm lands.
