Personally I'm not worried about his race or the color of his skin. I'd like to know why he is "chronically angry". Does he have mental health issues or has he had one or more severe concussions? There is a reason he is "mad at the world".

That could be, but looking at his facebook not long after this happened there was someone, maybe his mother (?) telling him, "No fighting!" So it would appear that people that know him have been trying to work with him.

I imagine I'll get some answers after his next trial.

sorry but someone saying to him no fighting on his facebook page imo means nothing, the guy was and still is fighting while on bail, says it all to me
