"John Horgan's BC NDP will give you more money back, by:

Freezing BC Hydro rates.
Stopping Christy Clark’s 42 per cent increase on ICBC rates.
Rolling back ferry fares on small routes by 15 per cent, freezing fares on major routes and restoring the 100 per cent seniors’ weekday discount."

Gee, I wonder where DeJong got the impression that the BC NDP would freeze Hydro rates etc.??

What a disingenuous article.
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

For years John Horgan has blasted the Liberals for interfering with the rate increase decisions for BC Hydro. After all that complaining he plans to do the exact same thing that he's been railing against. Hypocrisy at its finest!

Christy Clark set loose Finance Minister Mike de Jong to go attack the BC NDP's election platform Wednesday.

But instead of persuading reporters to believe his apocalyptic warnings about the BC NDP's plans to reduce inequality and tackle skyrocketing costs of living in British Columbia, de Jong raised doubts about his own competency instead.

I thought you were worried about BC Hydro's debt? No? It's fun to go back to 2012 and look at the debate on here as NDP'ers railed against the Clark government for intervening to keep BC Hydro rates from going up too much. Boy, were they mad at Clark. She should have just let the rates gone up and up and she had no right to intervene. Here we are now with Horgan saying he'll actually freeze rates and they're fine with it. Amazing how people turn into pretzels to defend some things.

Rwede"]You better send your bitching to BC Hydro then Nab, as that's their graph. Now I'm quite sure that if tier 2 had been priced in you would have cried that it was unfair too.

It doesn't change the fact that we pay some ridiculously low rates and that our infrastructure is in dire need of upgrading. Rates have been held down for 30 years while the power machine has been run into the ground.

you mean this guy ? did rwede back ndp in 2012 ? lol . thats a good one .

They should cancel their internet and buy Ichiban noodles.

that was rwedes answer to grammyfreddie asking what lowincome folks are supposed to about rising hydro rates . is that your answer to ?

NDP'ers were mad right on here back in 2012 when she did that. She was just trying to buy votes etc., how dare she interfere, but now that Horgan is doing it, Hallelujah! Great idea. No vote buying here. BC Hydro debt and infrastructure needs? What debt and infrastructure needs?

In 2012 NDP'ers were critical when BC Hydro announced the rate increases and she didn't intervene. Then when she did they criticized her for intervening. Funny how that worked! Look back and you'll see. But what about that debt that you've been complaining about? How will freezing the rates help? Don't you want to do your part? We've had very low Hydro rates, some of the lowest rates in North America, but maybe it's time to contribute a bit more. I think so.

Those of us who are BC Hydro customers need to be part of the solution and not part of the problem. The corporation has infrastructure needs and a debt. We've also had some of the lowest rates in North America so it's time we step up.
