It sure will. It's definitely an extraordinary year. I think their projected July Forecast is conservative, but optimistic all things considered. I will remain hopeful.

Considering the pattern we've witnessed in California, and the seemingly mirror image we see happening here, do you think we're headed for a few wet years or more dry years, 60?

Might help?

5,600,000,000 litres / day

If we all use 5 gallon/20L buckets, that would take 280,000,000 buckets to keep up with one day.
To take the lake level down, we'd need to surpass that figure substantially

With three cities and additional communities on this lake, we're safe to use a figure of 280,000 people.

Each and every person accounted for would need to hand-bomb 1000 buckets per day to keep up.
To cause a draining affect on the lake, we'd need to add on a significant amount to that figure. Let's bolster it to 1200, 5 gallon buckets a day.

Now THAT sounds like a challenge!!!

I'm in!!!
We could be FAMOUS!!!

My good gawd my arms are gonna burn.
Someone call Guinness.
We're gonna need a lot of Guinness. :130:
Might as well call that world record place too. What was their name? :135:

Smart A$$.
All I doing is my bit. Photographing and publishing like crazy to show people what is going on here AND making a suggestion as to how the average helpless Okanaganite, who can't drive around sandbagging and placing them, can help.

Fame? My photos are getting shared by two or three people, that's all the fame I'm getting.
You?

nadda
no fame here
BUT...
if we muster everyone to the challenge, we'd be famous.
The little town that could.
Are you telling me after getting me all hyped, that you're not up for it?
Man, people give up SO easy.

So - if the volume of hypothetical water gatherers were to be assembled - where would the water be deposited, without running back into the lake?

I have a theory that if people water their plants from their buckets, slowly, then the plant's up take will prevent too much water from reaching the water table level.

How we can help drain the lake ?

Not sure what others are doing but personally I think I'm doing my part.

I have several tanker loads of water "stored" in my front yard,
A few outbuildings and a cabin are also "holding" a fair amount.

If I chose to run pumps from the lake to more of the property I'm
pretty sure it would just find it's way back in to the lake fairly promptly.

Any ideas ? :135:

Does anyone know where to get Kokanee eggs ? It looks like I have enough water in the crawlspace to raise a pretty good net full.

I've been using the "full flush" button on the toilet after peeing.
I've also been running with scissors......but the Lake is still going up.

When going on a Vacation (soon I hope) I'm going to turn on all the taps and let them run!
My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

Always used to advertise sphagnum as the all natural super absorbent material they used in their products.

I think it's time for Colon to give Always a call.
We could use some shipments of their super absorbent pads.

Better than sandbags!

This won't help drain the lake but I figure if at least 50% of the people that live here go outside right now and swat just 1 misqutoe there would be say 50000 less to munch on me...? Ahhhhhhhh I'm so itchy.... :-X :cuss:
