It's not the last minute.
Folks like to wait until the last minute.

There was lot of sandbagging done from there to the next corner... Already..we were there Sunday or Monday..

the boat launch parking lot is fully flooded as well

Then why would anyone sandbag if this high tech protection was supposed to work?

Nothing will stop the water table from rising through the ground. Then all you can do is try to pump it out faster than it is coming in. Good luck with that too.

The endless orange snake..
Well they are not giving them out, nor the crew to install them.
Yes they are both sides of the boat launch. Then the boat launch has a wall of sand bags across it..
Yes it helps hold the water back , but it can still get thru, either leaking or through the ground, some of it now under lake level.
Its Far easier to pump out 800 gallons than 30,000 gallons.
Those barriers break the waves and storm surge, and when installed were much higher than the water. Nobody knew or knows how high it will go..
When you have a pump or lift station or electric box, easier to lay out a rectangle of sandbags around it, the orange snake dont bend so tight, nor do square corners..
Did you look at any of this ? Do you realize how bad it is ?

I'm just a little curious now but isn't there a danger now that ground water can be the biggest threat to roads being damaged by sink holes like what happened on Hwy 97N in Vernon? I guess not just roads but also public and private infrastructure with a very high water table and the flooding of basements and underground parking which is happening right now along Sunset Dr. and other areas near the lake. My heart goes out to all the people being affected and the stress and emotions that their going through now and in the future because of finacial hardship that Insurance will not cover.
