Fire Philpot and 33

Fire crews are responding to a fire at Philpot and Hwy 33. RCMP requested for tactical evacuation of Philpot. Units from Ellison, Rutland and Main Hall responding. Air support requested. Hwy 33 closed.

That's what I hear on the scanner. Fire described as massive. They're calling for a full evacuation of the entire area.

hopefully it is just rank 3 as Castanet reports. With these winds, that fire could just explode. :(

It's burning pretty fast. The winds up here are really going hard. Haven't seen air support yet. Our place is about a mile as the crow flies from the start location

Air support is on the way. Have been asked by KFD to hit it with everything they've got. Hopefully you're upwind of the fire...

They're working on evacs from Cardinal Creek to east boundary so if you're in that area, get ready to leave.
