Grass fire human caused (Lake Country)

UPDATE: 10:15 p.m.

A small grass fire in Lake Country is under control, according to Fire Chief Steve Windsor.

The fire, which started behind a resident along East Ridge Drive, was human caused with a trail that leaves from the site, Windsor said.

UPDATE: 9:43 p.m.

A Lake Country resident said at least five large firefighting vehicles and five smaller trucks were at the scene of the fire.

A vehicle towing a water tank also arrived at the scene.

UPDATE: 9:19 p.m.

Emergency vehicles have arrived at the scene of a grass fire in Lake Country, near Cliffstone Court and Lake Hill Drive.

ORIGINAL STORY: 9:13 p.m.

Firefighters are responding to reports of a grass fire in Lake Country.

Crews responded to the call at about 8:45 p.m. near Cliffstone Court near Lake Hill Drive.

Castanet is sending a reporter to the scene and will update once more information becomes available.

Good news. Thank you humans for rejuvenating the grasslands with another fire. Fire is good for the grasslands. Next time wait until it's a little wetter before doing that though.

From what I've heard, they already know who has been setting these fires. People on Nighthawk have lost their homes! How many more fires does this lowlife need to set before getting charged and put away? Hopefully it doesn't take someone getting injured or losing their life.

Fire is good for the grasslands. It's not good in the urban interface areas which is where this fire was located. Intentionally set or accidentally, it is said to have been human caused. This is pretty scary for the residents who live along the NE edges of the Lakes. (East Ridge Drive - Parkside Cresent)
