Actually the mean average lake level at Kelowna is still dropping! (open image in new tab to enlarge to 1920 x 1200 resolution)...

The average lake level is rising, but in 2018 the lake level is still going down.

We know how low it is according to where the water sits on dock pilings. But I fear that will change soon enough.

Thanks for the clarifications from Brentville, Glacier and Fancy. My graph should have said "since the April 9 jump-up in the discharge rate". Latest rainfall is still concerning.

In the Okanagan Basin Water Board webinar today, Mr. Reimer said they expect about 2 meters of water to come from the melting snowpack. He estimates there's room now to store 1 meter and he hopes to discharge another meter over time to handle the expected inflow.

Creek has somewhere to go, however City was notified about a blockage in culvert and didn't act.

where the flood was, Rumohr Creek goes into a culvert under Spiers and pops up on the other side. That culvert plugged up. It parralels Heimlich Rd and eventually crosses it, where it continues a across several farms before entering Mission Creek.

Rumohr Creek is pretty small, but it took over 2hrs for city crews to show this morning and look at the creek. Also, as they are not properly maintaining many creeks (except Mill) there is going to be more of this in the area this spring.

so has any one actually seen the water level this low? for real and not on a graphed average

ive lived here all my life and cant ever recall having to flipper jump to get onto a ladder or go 4x4ing to launch the boat.

good thing all our monthly snow pack data shows we should get it back :1422:

It's down substantially from past years. But just wait, it will rise again.

We were down at Antler Beach on Thursday and saw this sail boat high and dry. Now wishing I had been more proactive and tied it off to something before the water line rises and it drifts from shore.
