:136: Never had the urge to even look at an iplod!! MS does not have an exclusive license on trying to take over a market....Apple could do some serious mind control considering how many ears these things are plugged into.

*Conspiracy*.... :smt023 ....who knows, I could care less. My Palm lets me listen to MP3's just fine....and I like satellite radio....

:1422: ...and I am not giving up on my Quake...I could likely run it on XP but my widescreen DVI is hooked up to my laptop....stubborn too....

Quake should work. Doom is brutal code. it's like ID's first game and it's tricky to get working on lots of newer computers.

Or just play it online.

Hehe, I was playing it last week... painful... especially the lack of mouselook... I like to go retro now and then to remember how much it's all changed. What a pain not being able to look up at the roof.

Well ID in there wisdom put it out GPL so it will never vanish completely. You can never retire a classic. People need it for reference, where it all started. It never started there by any means but it's the one that can credit the current gaming revolution. Still works on Linux BTW.

Could not see what you were referring to you....as soon as I clicked on a link it crashed Firefox....thank goodness FF restores sessions when that happens.

They got a little program there. you download it. it does the old dos interpretor part so your game can work on newer hardware. I downloaded it and installed it here.

It still uses the wad files from you original copy so you will need that.

Loaded in FF here no problem,

It's suppose to be the way to get Doom to work on Vista.

Tried it at work last week, it fails... Maybe their site was down. I just had to ask the customer to convert them to some I could read.

Thanks for trying though.

Buying entire countries votes off was not good enough to get OohXML approved to become a ISO standard. They got to integrate there stupid format into there next generation product. That company has no shame. I hope the EU really steps on them this time. They have not changed one bit since the last time they got convicted. Business as usual. As long a buddy Bush is in nothing will change on this side of the planet.
