LAN Connection mystery
I connect my laptop to Shaw via a router and all is fine.
If I remove the CAT5 cable from the router and connect direct to the Shaw modem I get no connection!!
I have tried restarting the laptop. I have tried another cable.
Any ideas anyone

Unplug the shaw modem for a couple seconds, then plug it back in. It needs to establish the new address, now that you changed the connection.
