Somehow I think Al Gore might be involved in this.

Odd. Check the image in zzontar's link. I would have thought black holes were more... roundish.

WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!

oh wait.

McPherson says the black holes will decay and disappear quickly. He adds that what scientists are trying to do in a laboratory setting at the LHC happens in nature daily.

Come on, this is serious stuff. If you enjoy disaster movies, you know the threat is very real and that a nuclear device is going to be needed to fix the damned problem. You can also bet that the dissenting scientist, Walter Wagner, will be working with a pretty but heavily made-up female scientist dressed provocatively in a low-cut dress. I know how this story ends. The aforementioned nuclear device will be delivered by a heroic but relationship-troubled scientist/father who will be forced, because of last-minute technical problems, to ride the nuke into the black hole, sacrificing his life for all humanity while his until recently estranged daughter watches, in horror, on the screen back at the lab.

Okanoogians, Keloonians, fellow Countrymen, lend me your ear. Mine just got ripped off by the gravitational pull of a square black hole.

For those of you who are having trouble visualizing the possible effect of this, check this out:

No worries, McGyver will save the day, wait, I mean Colonel O'Neill.

As Jo described, this episode will explain everything.
