well that's exceptional then
(and my number - as well as many many others - are exceptions - as they are not included in auto-dialer software lists. Fact.)

"Computer Service" phone scam - at it again!
This is a Public Service Announcement:
The phone scammers that claim to be offering some sort of free support for your Windows computer are still making calls.
They call on a static-y line wand ahve south asian accents. They want you to look at your Event Viewer to see all the errors generated by the "malicious software" that you have picked up over the years.
(These errors are normal - all your software generates errors and the system handles them just fine. Its ok - its called the Microsoft virus...)
Once you see evidence of these "horrible errors that are slowing down your computer", they then ask you to browse to a website called "ww.logmein123.com"
DON'T DO IT!!!
They want to access your computer to get control of it and load various types of REALLY nasty software.
If you have questions about your computer, talk to someone you can SEE and TRUST!!!
Carry on about your business, thanks for your time.
PS - For fun and amusement, string these guys along for as long as you can by playing dumb. It is a waste of your time but they can't harass two people at once!!

They called me the other day and told me I had viruses on my computer,
I said that's ok I'm a doctor and can treat the viruses.
He promptly hung up. :dyinglaughing:

:dyinglaughing: Good one!
When I'm busy I just say "Can you hold while I change phones?" and leave them on hold. Sometimes they wait for a surprisingly long time.

This is funny... Talk in a language they cant recognize even if they do know a few languages.
""Gersh gurndy morn-dee burn-dee, burn-dee, flip-flip-flip-flip-flip-flip-flip-flip-flip"" and a little of this,,, ""Bork bork bork""
They go "Wat you mean?" cos they dont know the Swedish chef

Re: Computer Repair Telephone Scam
Friend called me last night asking why someone from "Windows" is calling him and telling him he has a virus... When I currently have his computer because his HDD died!
He replied "I don't have windows" and they instantly hung up...
