Samsung S4 vs Nexus 5 phones

Anyone have experience or comments with these? I'm looking at getting one of these phones for my next contract. I like the stats with the Nexus compared to the Samsung, but I was wondering what the experiences of others have been.

I know the memory on the Nexus isn't expandable (16gb internal) and the battery can't be removed, but battery on my current phone hasn't been an issue and I've barely touched the 8gb expanded memory on my current phone.

why a s4 and not a s5

Because I can get the S4 free and the S5 would cost an extra $200.
