Which browser works best for you? Poll

Post by GordonH »

Please pick the browser that works best for yourself. Feel free to post why.

They are not in any order
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

I use Safari, I've tried couple of others. What I found was Safari worked best with OS I'm on.

I use Google Chrome with Windows 7, haven't had any issues, so why switch or try anything different.

Firefox mostly, and Pale Moon as my second choice.

Pale Moon. Used to use FireFox.

If you don't like the direction FireFox has been going as of late, try Pale Moon. It's FireFox based.

Firefox at home, Chrome at work. I still have to use IE at work as well, as some of the websites I use won't function right in anything else >_<
I haven't failed until I quit.

You figure out how to get the 'back' button in PM ?

Not a deal breaker but was surprised to see it missing .

Internet Explorer has been my preference again since ie9. Before that was firefox. Now I use chrome in parallel for some stuff, mainly when adblock needs to be involved (youtube sometimes, piratebay). But I find IE smoother overall and its default popup blocker is better. When you set it to not allow popups you will never see another one, period. It can be annoying on sites that insist on coding their links to open a new browser window, but IE asks permission anyway so it can still open if you want. In chrome I've tried the settings and even with adblock I still get the odd popup.

IDK, it's not missing for me. ?? Maybe you have to customize it? (right-click on empty space in the userbar area)

I'm surprised Internet Explorer made it past zero! The only reason I haven't disabled it completely if that's even possible is because the maker of my NAS (QNAP) insists I use IE for compatibility reasons. I was using Opera mainly because it has (had) a email client. Newer versions of Opera removed the bookmark sidebar so I switched to Firefox and Thunderbird.

Only use IE if all other attempts to load a page fail. I had not seen some of these lesser known browsers and may give them a try. If they work better than my usual browsers, Firefox and Chrome, I may switch.
Chrome has one real good feature which I use on certain web pages and that is the ability to disable plug-ins and enable only specific ones on a page by clicking on them. I love this feature. The popups I can usually live with but all the flash ads can be horrid on some sites.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

IE is an excellent browser now, this circlejerk needed to die some time ago.
