Do you have a Lenovo Laptop?
I got Married because I was sick and tired of finishing my own sentences.
That's worked out great for me!

Another good reason to remove all crapware from a new system! I'd never buy anything Lenovo anyways --- every time I see the word Lenovo I think of IBM.

Too bad they are even allowed to do that.
Should be bare bones with nothing but the OS or a disk to load it.

But then the computer stores can't charge you a brown note to "set up" you computer for you ;)
I love getting into that argument with the sales people ...
"Why should I pay you an extra $100 to "set-up" my computer, why doesn't it come ready out of the box?"
"Well, because there may be programs that you don't know about that you may want to use, so the manufacturers put trial programs on your computer for your convenience to try out."
"But if I give you the $100, you'll remove all those programs?"
"That is correct."
"So, how do I know I might want them if you remove them?"
"Well, ummm, errrr"
LOL!

Lenovo hit with lawsuit over Superfish snafu
Damaged? I think her first mistake was buying a Lenovo laptop!
You can sue for this stuff? ... Google does this 24/7!
Plaintiff Jessica Bennett said her laptop was damaged as a result of Superfish, which was called “spyware” in court documents. She also accused Lenovo and Superfish of invading her privacy and making money by studying her Internet browsing habits.

That was one I was considering. I'm going to get the set up and crap removed but its costing me $50... Not $100!

Re: Do you have a Lenovo Laptop?
Turns out it’s not just Lenovo customers who should be worried about their exposure — the insecurity of Superfish is largely due to its use of technology from an Israeli company called Komodia, and quite a few software packages in the areas of antivirus and parental protection also use Komodia’s engine. Examples highlighted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security include products from parental control outfits Qustodio, Kurupira, Infoweise and Komodia’s own KeepMyFamilySecure, and security firms such as Lavasoft and Websecure.

The scary part of SuperFish was the self-signed CA cert that as pre-installed into the browser. Unfortunately, same-said-self-signed CA cert could just as easily be installed into Safari. The adware component relied on that cert to be able to snoop encrypted information - but it was the CA cert that was most evil of the whole ordeal.
SuperFish also exists for OS/X. It's just not pre-installed on your computer.

Re: Do you have a Lenovo Laptop?
The blame should be not only Lenovo...but Comsumers.
When people say "another reason to buy a mac" is because they already charge 1500-2500 mac doesnt have to put that "middle man" style pay scheme...
But as comsumers we want cheap cheap cheap....so the manufactures need to put that stuff in to the computer. Thats why when you buy a new computer first thing to do is reinstall windows
Problem solved
