Travel texting app (non-phone version)
Does anyone have a tried-and-true recommendation for a free app (Android) that you can connect to a phone number...but doesn't require your phone. I hope that makes sense.
I'm traveling to New York next week and want to try and stay somewhat connected. Generally I use What's App on my phone (turn on airplane mode and then only activate WIFI). This works fine and I can be connected when in WIFI range, which is pretty much everywhere these days.
I bought a new WIFI capable camera (virtually a mini-tablet as well) and want to try and use that as my camera/computer/phone for this trip. I don't need voice/call capability, just text. I already tried What's App but it's not available on my device.
Thanks!

TextNow works.
I got Married because I was sick and tired of finishing my own sentences.
That's worked out great for me!
