Re: Windows 10?
^^ This is why "Private Browsing" mode, and tracking protection, is useful, and why Google Desktop and Google Toolbar (among a plethora of others) shouldn't be installed.
I don't believe any preventative measures are foolproof, but at the same time, a person may as well make use of whatever measures are at their disposal.
I still often wonder how long it will take, before a lot of people clue in to the fact that toolbars, whether Google, Yahoo, or name your poison, aren't offered out of kindness, and concern for your browsing experience, but rather are dangled as a carrot in front of the less tech savvy, (all too often eager to obtain something free) to further the creators own agenda.

Re: Windows 10?
Took the plunge for the second time...why twice you ask?
First time I was absolutly aghast at the start menu and the look of the windows...........just plain white...ugh!
Seeing as its free for awhile and gaining some knowledge as to installing start is back(gives win 7 start menu) I decided to try again.
While not completly satisfied with the windows file system look, I am very happy with the start menu now.
I have tried to install new aero themes but to no avail, but maybe someday.(I did install the installer first)uxinstaller.
I use my own desktop wallpaper and am extremly happy now on two computers.

Microcr@p is getting even more tricky and making you upgrade whether you want to or not.

I believe they will just make us do it. Until then, I'm resisting, rebellion like.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

In the end there's no escaping moving to Windows 10, as they will cease supporting all the other flavors.
The only sure way to get around it is to move to Linux or go Apple.

Apparently so. Just saw the devil tweet something about a frost warning for the nether world.

So we had a lengthy session with a teckie in Keraia today and his recommendation?
Up grade to Windows 10 or your 'puter will crash!
Hmmm, I wonder whom he really works for? Took three techs all day, to try to fix a problem for us. I am told that even as I type I risk crashing my system. So I guess it's a stick instead of a carrot.

We have 4 computers here and I have upgraded all of them with no problems.
My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?

and their computers had problems too? :-)
Two of my machines upgraded. One had an issue and did not update until I upgraded its bios.

Did your machines tell you they were upgrading?
And "upgraded its bios" sounds Blade Runner-ish. Please explain.

Updated to Windows 10 six months ago and no problems whatever. I kept the same opening page layout and format as I had before updating.

When I upgraded I had to initiate it. Unless they have changed it doesn't do it on it's own.
A bios update is not something the everyday person want's to do without help.

Think of it as similar to figuring out a way to upgrade the Vancouver Canucks Queen K
