Shaw's also going up around the same time.
It's that time of year again.

Yep, its like gas prices when one goes up the others follow. Well with 1 huge difference there prices don't go down.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

Re: Telus hikes rates for broadband internet?
I'm starting to get to the point where Im looking at alternatives from the shaw/telus cash grabbers.
I found this, Cable internet for $19.95.
http://www.lightspeed.ca/personal/ratescable.html#table
Seems too good to be true, unless just the intro pricing. But I don't see any other price points.
The other is Okanagan Valley Internet starting at $42.95
Still cheaper than $60-70 per month that the big players charge.
Anybody deal with these companies?

Sadly, you get what you pay for.
If 5meg internet is fast enough for you, go for it.
That said, always keep an eye on promotions, and abuse the ability to "promo hop" between provides. Long term it tends to be cheaper with a minor amount of hassle switching back and forth every 6 months to a year(depending on the promos).

No word on TekSavvy increasing their rates (they use Telus lines where I am) - and it's about $10 cheaper than their equivalent plan already. With unlimited bandwidth, even.
Your bias suits you.
