Google Chrome keeps crashing

So I'm engaged in some thread and it happens again.

Could be any number of things which is why I haven't posted. But since there haven't been a lot of replies, I'll do what I can.

Here's my general advice for dealing with browser crashing problems:
1) Make sure you are updated. Chrome is up to something like v57 now. They release new versions regularly and fix bugs by publishing a new release rather than issuing a patch.
2) Disable or uninstall any browser ad-ins/plugins.
3) Switch to a different browser.

When throwing out problems like this it's also good to let the crowd know the OS and version (as mentioned above) ... Mac OS X vs Windows 7/8/10 have different glitches that will make a difference with the solution ...

That's what happens when you let a non-techie in the tech section. It's chaos man, total chaos.

Without non-techies the techies would lose touch with reality really quickly and be consumed into a maelstorm of D&D and OS-wars ... (my Dungeon Master books have finally been passed onto my great-nephew)

This and what Tyler said are things that unfortunately many computer users have no idea how to do.

As well as how to use Google to solve many of their problems. If you are having issues you can be sure others have as well and they are happy to put what they did to fix it on the internet.

CCleaner and Malwarebytes are 2 good free programs that should be used weekly for best results.

Another option for a program that is causing grief would be to remove it and reinstall it to start over. You can use CCleaner or REVO Uninstaller to do that. Both are free to use.

This happens because you have too many posts, forum overflow. Delete "Queen K" and start again. Problem solved!

You got me there DanSpeed! My only regret is playing in all the fun threads, games. They up your post count before you can say "40,000". I've also been here a long, long time and have made lots of friends, both on-line and in-person from castanet.

Mine actually does that on one site and I never remember until I actually click on a link and "Google is not responding" shows up. Like you said, I KNOW THAT! lol I have no idea what is on the site that causes it, but after it gets over that little hissy fit, I can click on the very same link and it opens no problem. My guess is the Russians have something to do with it.

Actually it's a political site. And I can't remember which one. LOL And after I get the page to load without freezing I realize it was a waste of time. I swear. One of these days I'll stop going there. Wherever it is...
