Hope you got the TV back. It appears that you can get a replacement logic board for it for about $60 USD. It would take about an hour to replace, and consists entirely of undoing/redoing screws and unfastening/refastening ribbon connectors. They seem to be fetching a decent price still ($800 USD on ebay) - so $60 and an hour's worth of work seems like it might be worth it.
I'd like to change your mind, but I don't have a fresh diaper.

Yup, that’d be right. I didn’t get the TV back as they said it was not repairable. I also didn’t feel like finding a home for it, I must be getting old & lazy. Their focus was on getting a ‘new’ logic board which was probably not going to happen. Maybe in the end that is what they did, chopped it up for parts or repaired it with used parts. The replacement wouldn’t have been too tough. They might have had themselves a TV that does 3D, LoL.
I do diligence and sometimes diligence does me.
