I’m sorry, but it looks to me like an iPhone’s screen picture, printed on a sardines can.
I mince no words. Spare me political correctness and platitudes!

Oh you spoiled the surprise!
What was the starting bid?
"Sealed" doesn't necessarily mean "never opened"
I think the real winner here is the shipping company!

The moral of the story is don't count your iPods before they arrive and are tested and working.
My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

That is 10 year old tech. it came out in 2009
I hope you knew that that can not be upgraded past IOS 6 (12 is out now)
Many apps will not work on that old of an IOS.
Still not bad for just music. (if that works)

Now if it was a 7th or maybe even 6th generation ipod (with 16gb or more), then maybe reasonable deal.
my 3rd generation is still working
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

The starting bid was $89.99 plus shipping of $18.50 and it is brand new as this what the seller said in the description in the photo below

You paid too much for old tech. Your choice though.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

Don't think it was a bad purchase - but I would have bought a used iPhone 5 or 6 locally at that price.

I wonder what the battery will be like after sitting for 9 years?

One of the reasons I think he paid too much.
https://www.batteryuniverse.com/blog/tags/shelf-life/
With the rare exception of lithium rechargeable batteries with carbon anodes (over 10,000 life cycles), most consumer based batteries offer life cycles of 600-1,000 life cycles, based on our experience.
The shelf life of lithium rechargeable batteries varies based on chemical compounds and uses. A bare cell (no circuitry protection) can easily last four years. However, most battery packs have multiple cells that have circuitry protection. The integrated circuit (IC) uses power to remember how much charge/discharge the pack can perform with. That causes a slow discharge. Once the pack loses power, so does the IC, which can render the battery pack useless. From our experience, a cellphone, laptop, and tablet battery will usually have a shelf life at most two years.
