Was that a community garage sale? Next Saturday May 11th is the Quail Ridge community yard sale - trying to decide if I want to battle the masses on that. All in the search for old Pyrex casseroles. The ones I see at thrift stores are chipped and badly stained. I accidently broke a bunch of mine and want to replace them but apparently the new Pyrex ones are made more cheaply and people have had them explode in their ovens.

Yup, it was Tootsie. Next weekend is also the Crawford Estates garage sale AND the Vintage Fair at Parkinson Rec Centre - I bet you'll find it at the Vintage fair but it won't be cheap.

Saturday May 25th is a garage sale at Sonoma Pines on the Westside.

I had heard about the new Pyrex not being as good - I snagged two old Pyrex (supposedly never used) pie plates for $5 total. Not a bad deal and they were the deep-dish style I was after.

I had a newer anchor hocking dish explode. Thank goodness it was inside my oven at the time.

Old Pyrex or le cruselet from here on out. Yes they’re completely different.

For most things now I prefer using baking stones (usually Pampered Chef stuff). I have a casserole dish, a large deep bowl, 2 pizza stones, a cookie sheet and a bar pan (like a cookie sheet, but with edges). Clean up is way easier.

I got up at 4 am this morning to get sh** done at work today. As in 6 projects with a deadline of this week. 5 down and one to go.

Ah, the joys of being a salaried employee.

Cameras are everywhere, so if one needs to go... best to find the nearest fuel station.

Even out in the back country, one never knows if someone has motion sensor camera for wildlife.

This guy is pretty dumb not to recognize a doorbell camera.

How interesting the people who say "If you can't afford kids, don't have them" are often the ones who rail at increasing the number of immigrants.

I think I am not reading/listening to "news" anymore.
I am totally fed up with politics, local, provincial, federal.
I am going to be selfish and be uninformed happy in my own little bubble.

Today's rant.
Don't usually buy processed food but what happened to 12 weiners in Maple Leaf hot dog packages now 10..... buns are 12 or 8.
What happened to 500 grams of bacon?
What happened to 16 thick slices of Kraft cheese slices, now 14?
Digressing but the list could go on:
What happened to the other couple of ounces of dish soap?
Paying more and more for less and less.
Gotta go back into my bubble.

Remember that thread, "Incredible shrinking groceries"?
I had the same thing happen to me, I picked up what used to be 750ml and now it's 600 ml.
