Well, good on them, at least there is still somewhere in Kelowna to work.
I wonder how it is on the inside?? Hows the divide between mgmt and the union?
I kinda miss the people on the the floor,(even the grumpy old ones, haha) we had alot of fun.

Well looks like the Union agreed to a new contract.

or were they told by the big union boss to tighten up the belt and take it because they cant go through another 4 month strike that didnt do anything for them either than lose 4 months of pay.

Unions is not needed anymore and if anything drives the prices up for the consumer.

it will take alot more than guys like you that hate unions based on what daddy said to end the institution. at the end of the day lost wages was probably a fresh wound in the present economy and considered in the votes. but i think it also indicates that they were happy with management and what they see at work as well. unions are like women.....they can be expensive.....but a happy wife is a happy life. and jimmy only wants to have production and make money. so is it a failure on the unions part? or soft treading on managements part? maybe they saw that the battle axe didnt work in the nhl.....and saw that the nfl made a fiasco of their product with the refs. and kept the status quo. which would be a small victory for the union.

You and Symbonite seem to watch the company like hawks, didja both work there and have a rough time maybe? :dyinglaughing:

Both of you seem to have a seriously big bad hate on for their union, almost gives off a message like you both counted on much more then you both got,,,
Seems to me they settled, usually its not a loss to settle for such a long time. It would benifit both sides to agree on a contract that long.
I thought it was great news for this town to have a secure job setting, not many large employers left after Hiram and Western star left so dont worry,,, be happy.
