Seeing the clock tick to clock out time and being able to go home to kick my feet up and sit back and unwind for a bit before tackling dinner. Some days and weeks feel longer than others.

Re: What Made You Smile Today?
I flew from Toronto to Calgary and had a nice aisle seat. The guy next to me (middle seat) seemed to be talking across the aisle to a girl in the middle seat opposite us. I offered him my seat to be closer to her, but he politely declined as he felt he'd be putting me out, and he'd still be talking across the stranger on the other aisle seat. So I asked his fiance (newly engaged on their trip to Cuba) if she wanted to switch with me.
I wound up next to an awesome lady from New Brunswick who was a total riot. She wanted to have a few drinks and went to buy the first round. As she's trying to pay the flight attendant goes "no, you can't, this man is already buying her (me) a drink" and points to the man and his fiance. The flight attendant finally goes "I don't know you but you're obviously pretty awesome, so how about this one's on me".
It's always nice to help someone out, even in a small way. It means a lot though when someone else goes out of their way to show their appreciation. Makes a girl feel special!

Waking up feeling rested and refreshed - that's a rarity for me!
Of course, I had gone to bed at 7:30 last night :p

The town that my son works for got the multi million dollar grant that he applied for on their behalf. Him being a happy man makes me a happy man.

It's payday. And I'm on holidays. And we had a team meeting yesterday which confirmed a few things. So why am I so down?
Because I'm still in Kelowna! Oh, and make no mistake, Kelowna is my small town.

As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Watching my wife walk in the door and realizing that, after all of these years, she is still the most amazing person I have ever met.

Looking at pictures of the "pig races" in California. They run flat out around the short track for a cookie.

Kudos and a smile to them for trying to make a difference. Kelowna needs more give and less take.

The soft patter of rain, the smell of it (and the fact that it has it's own name "petrichor"). The gentle gray shroud that softens harsh edges, slowly greening things up. It isn't even a chilly rain, nor muggy either. It's peaceful.

Re: What Made You Smile Today?
Finding out that there was such a word as petrichor.
pet·ri·chor
ˈpeˌtrīkôr/
noun
a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather.
"other than the petrichor emanating from the rapidly drying grass, there was not a trace of evidence that it had rained at all"
It sounds like something from Jurassic Park.
