Well, good evening, internet peep friends.
Its been a couple days since my last posting here, so Im afraid I wasnt able to come here and play our little werd game with ya all.
You see, my first cousin (on my mama's side) Barry called me the other day, he was in town on business. He wanted to come visit me.
Well, its been some time since Ive had a caller, especially a male one. Sheila from down the hall comes to visit sometimes, but she usually comes in the afternoon and interrupts my stories. The last time she was here, she got Muffin so upset she peed on the floor. By the time she left, I was so tired, and didnt get around to cleaning it until the next day.
I know she piddled close to Sheila's walker, but for the life of me, I coulnt find it the next morning.
It either dried, or she just didnt piddle and I thought she did.
Anyway, Barry came over yesterday morning, he has some high falutin job as an account executive for a company out east.
None of us figgered he was executive material.
Anyway, when I heard he was coming, I baked some cookies, but the intercom rang before they were ready, and there he was. He sure looks different since he divorced, he looks thinner.I think Kathy fed him pretty good, she sure was a good girl. She was Carl Rodgers' eldest. I dont know where she is now, I havent heard from her in years. Betty said last she heard, she was in Saskatoon. I do hope she's doing well for herself.
Barry took me to __________ _____, you all know I cant name the place here, but it is a popular chain restaurant, I see their ads on tv all the time. I havent been to one of those places for years, oh my, the prices! They were so dear. It was a gentle reminder why I never go out. I ordered the chicken salad, and asked the waitress to take the chicken out. I ate half, and took the rest home. Barry is well, he got himself a new silver car. It sure is nice. It has electric windows that go up and down when you push a button. It smelled like cigarettes inside. That might be why Barry is so thin, he wont get any meat on his frame if he smokes. He's lost lots of his hair, he will probably have to get himself one of those man-wigs soon. Anyway, after lunch he took me back to my place, and held my arm to the elevator. He's always been such a gentleman. He came up, he stayed for tea and cookies. I wish I made my oatmeal chocolate chips for him, but I ate all the oatmeal that morning. I still havent got any yet. If the weather breaks, Im going to go out and get some in the morning.
I dont know about those weather peeps. They keep saying its going to be 5 degrees, but maybe Im watching an american channel and its in faranheight. I sure am glad I stayed home in december and finished my afghan. I dont need no big heating bills this year, not with no one to take care of me.
Anyway, thats the excitement in my life, sorry I wasnt here lately. Sometimes life just gets so busy.
