A veritable potpourri. Everything but the kitchen sink goes here. Sometimes even the kitchen sink.

We use ropes made of synthetic (Spectra) fibers from time to time in my line of work. A huge improvement over hemp, or cotton, or the yellow stuff you get at the hardware store.

My shirt has plastic buttons (not bone). My belt buckle is also made of plastic. They are inexpensive, light weight, and I don't have to take my belt off at airport security. Quite an improvement over stone, and bone.

If you go into a sporting goods store, you will see many improvements that have been made to socks. They are made of materials that better wick away moisture, and dry faster than many animal fibers. That being said, 100% wool is pretty effective too.

None of my screwdrivers have wooden handles. The metallurgy of the blades are quite different than those used in the late 15th century. Some screwdriver tips are magnetic. I have in my toolbox and ratcheting screwdriver with interchangeable bits, and interchangeable shafts. Quite a bit of improvement since invention.

I would disagree that screw threads have not improved since invention. They have beenstandardized for interchangeability, and improvements have been made to root shape help prevent cracks originating from the roots.
