What about feedback, like ebay? That way if someone is consistantly good at following through, offering a decent product, the consumer will know.

Trying to find a place where I can find Hot Tub maintenance, or a replacement cover etc. Where would I find that category? My hot is making strange noises and the red power button is flashing. There is debre' in the tub (hasn't been used since summer,) but the water is still heating. I know it needs flushing out and re-filling, but winter is not the best time to attempt this. Perhaps the filters need to be changed? I have a bad back and cannot fully open the lid. The lid is heavy and water-logged.

How about the ability of the system to rotate images in classified ads? Currently, images that are in portrait mode are showing up sideways (landscape mode). Is it the system or is it that people are not posting properly rotated images to start with?

Example ...

If you edit your ad, you will see there are options to rotate an image clockwise or counter-clockwise.

Most people don't seem to be able to rotate a picture on their computers let alone on Castanet. At least the option is there if needed.

If the listing hasn't sold in that time then the person would simply have to relist the item.

I find past history has shown that there are far too many items displayed that have already been sold or the owner has changed his/her mind about selling yet the ad is still there.

It makes for a lot of wasted time.

Should be a 30 day listing and let the person know that there ad is about to expire.Thx

LOL Troy - it's not my ad :D I was just pointing it out to you in case it was a "system" thing rather than user-error thing. Guess it's user-error, so just ignore me, okay?

Got any liniment for this twisted neck, though?

"Operator Error" Not only do most computers come stock with a "rotate image" feature, common sense would dictate that those posting pics would notice that on their hard drive before posting them, "Well, my house is sideways!" Well that's fine and dandy and accurate from our current position based on a local location over in the UK, it may not play over so well if it is local! :dyinglaughing:

Although I always wanted a house with a carpeted wall. Just because. It would make me feel...something! Something...carpety?

There is an option as to how long the listing is and they do inform you when it is going to expire.

Re: Misleading Views Count

Postby don neufeld » Feb 3rd, 2012, 6:26 pm

When someone opens an add the internal counter displays the number of persons that opened that add. This could be misleading and if that item is cancelled then relisted at a later date the counter is still counting up the views. The item can be relisted for many different reasons and the count could give a false reading. Example I have a number of properties for rent and when they are rented I cancell the add, I do not delete it. If that property comes up for rent again I relist it but anyone viewing it sees the origional count and their view is also added. So therefore if I have a 6 plex and have vacancies there could possably be a 1000 views even though they are different units. So what I would like to have happen is everytime the add is unlisted and relisted that the counter begins again from 0

Hi, I have a couple of suggestions. I have high speed with a computer that's ready to be upgraded to a newer product and I have had my computer freeze, hang and shut down because of all the video, flash and all that is required to be downloaded. Then there are people in our community, low income families, singles, seniors, disabled, on a limited income who don't have a fancy computer and can't afford high speed don't have the choice to upgrade.
So everyone can have the best of both worlds it would be nice to have the option to choose maybe a basic or enhanced home page. I remember years back when things like this use to be an option.
Also don't forget when it comes to font size, color contrast with the background and font their are individuals who are visually impaired and words can actually disappear. You may think some of the features on the computer that are available meet the need, some do help, like in IE8 changing the zoom level but it's not convenient as you lose part of your screen and it doesn't address font disappearing in the background color. I know I have the ability in this email to adjust font color and size but I difficult reading your information Troy, because I have problems with my vision.
It would also be nice to relax and type a note without all these dancing around, it's distracting and can make it difficult to concentrate in some situations.
I'm also looking for a puppy and/or a kitten and it would be great to have an alert emailed to when advising when any new postings are available are actually emailed the new postings directly to me so I didn't have to go to the site if I had nothing else I wanted to see that day.
I really enjoy Castanet classifieds and over the years it has assisted me in many different areas while providing a quality service at no charge. Lorrie

Just to let you know how frustrating it is to try and get of of services when responding to a service available and you can't. All it does is stop me from going unto that section. to get back I have to go back to the classifieds then to services then to contsruction and so on and so on. Come on, why don't you try to make it a little more user friendly
