Apparently there is a vortex on Mt. Ida... Has anyone else heard of this? I googled some more and came across some interesting sites to say the least... Anyways just curious to know if anyone knows about it.]

I believe you are correct. I had to look up Yak Peak because I know this as Zopkios Ridge, although it appears Yak Peak and Zopkios are the same.
