Uh oh.
I'm sensing a winner.
It would have been unfair for me to answer as I have almost exactly the same photo, only taken in Sept.

As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Queenie have you been on the TransCanada Hwy since the new construction around Revelstoke ?
Don't you think that it looks similar ?

Not Revelstoke, but someone's got it anyways.

The picture is Westbound on the TransCanada, West of Field, East of Golden, so the correct answer is Golden.
Wisp, since Revelstoke is even further West of Golden it does not come into play.
GordonH was first to get it correct but the winner is Frenchcastanut
I (and GordonH) both find it quite strange that this significant rock cut does not
appear to be named after anyone, or, anything.
I was quite surprised how many images I found almost exactly the same as my own.
FrenchCastanut.....Your turn., Congratulations.

I got really confused ( I'm old, I'm allowed .. lol ) since at the time of construction you could stop in Revelstoke and look at maps and such and see the progress of the construction.
Drove on the TransCanada Hwy on my way to Ontario later on. Was mesmerized by the whole thing, especially that hole in the rock.
Eastbound ... you can see that rock from far away. So neat. I didn't drive the same way Westbound.
That's why I changed my guess earlier from Golden to Revelstoke. I knew you were going Westbound.

I understand the mesmerized thing. My first (and only) time
through all I could think was;
"It's a wonderment."

The drive between Kelowna & Calgary has many awesome sites to see.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

I was talking with a young cashier a few weeks ago ( I'd say 21 - 23 years old ) who said she has never seen the Rockies.
I was so shocked but kept it to myself. I said " You will .. you will "

^ I worked with a guy in Kamloops (mid 20s) who said that his wife had never been anywhere further than Kelowna!
P.S. I'm not sure that it's entirely uncommon to never visit the Rockies. If I had not had an older brother going to school in Alberta, I would not have seen the rockies until the age of 28.
